In response to the growing demand for nuclear waste transport during the 1970s, British Rail developed a series of specialist wagons designed for this challenging task. Early examples featured open-frame construction, later replaced in the 1980s by a more advanced and durable design, which forms the basis of this finely detailed Graham Farish model.
